Roofing Affidavits

Florida Building Code (FBC) 706.8 requires that if your home (insured or taxable value over $300,000) is being reroofed, the roof-to-wall connections must be inspected and, if needed, upgraded to meet current code. This must be verified through a roof affidavit.

Wind Mitigation Solution is licensed to:

  • Perform all required roof-to-wall connection upgrades

  • Complete and sign the official roof affidavit for you

  • Guide you through the process and answer all your questions

When This Applies:

  • During a reroof on homes in wind-borne debris regions with an insured or taxable value over $300,000

  • Structures with a wood deck (sawn lumber, wood plank, or wood structural panel)

  • Retrofit cost limit: No more than 15% increase to reroofing cost (per FBC 706.8.1)
